Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates –
In full alignment with the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership and its national strategy for artificial intelligence and future foresight, the Al Liwan Foundation for Culture and Heritage, under the generous patronage of Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, has launched a unique initiative titled “Artificial Intelligence: Aspects of the Cultural Future and Heritage Preservation.” This initiative is part of its efforts to spread cultural and intellectual awareness and keep pace with rapid digital transformations.
This initiative is part of the positive engagement with the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy, which aims to position the country among the world’s leaders in the development and application of artificial intelligence technologies across various sectors. It also aligns with the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of the Community,” which focuses on empowerment, solidarity, and community participation. The initiative’s first activities kicked off today with a distinguished dialogue session hosted by the Al Liwan Foundation, which hosted Dr. Rami Shaheen, Secretary General of the Global AI Award and an international technology consultant in artificial intelligence, in a session titled: “Investing in Artificial Intelligence to Preserve Heritage and Establish Cultural Identity in the UAE.” Shaheen presented a comprehensive vision on the importance of employing AI technologies to protect cultural heritage and enhance national identity in light of rapid digital transformation.
The initiative includes a series of dialogue sessions and knowledge-based activities that highlight the multiple dimensions of AI and its advanced applications in the fields of culture, heritage, education, health, economy, and security. It also highlights successful global experiences and focuses on empowering women and girls by engaging them in inspiring knowledge-based dialogues.

Al Liwan Foundation affirms that this initiative represents a new step in spreading the culture of innovation and knowledge, strengthening the role of culture as a bridge for cultural communication, and leveraging modern technology to preserve national identity and the rich Emirati heritage, contributing to building a sustainable future for future generations.
